Kaweah
Welcome to Kaweah's Home Page. Kaweah is a Westsail 28, fully imported from the U.S.A. She has cruised extensively, having circumnavigated. She changed hands in Australia for the first time in the '80s. Her current owner has lived aboard for the last five years, travelling the Queensland coast. Westsails are often jokingly referred to as "Wetsnails", but I prefer the comparison that the Westsail is America's answer to the Swan, because of their strength and uniqueness. Even today, although the company has been out of production for some 20 odd years, you can still purchase replacement parts manufactured exclusively for Westsail Yachts. The Westsail Owners Association in America is easily accessible through the internet and membership from overseas Westsail owners is welcomed and well worth the effort. Their website is informative and Kaweah's current owner has ascertained through this organisation, that "Kaweah" may be the only 28' Westsail in Australia.
